I’d be more bothered if she was outing herself to everyone ever because that would feel like trying to make that her defining characteristic instead of her being a huge dork.

Agreed. I really liked how simple and quiet the announcement was rather than this huge week-or-two-long story-arc. Coming out to people is a really fucking hard process (transgendered, gay, bisexual, etc) and it’s mostly a shot in the dark in terms of whether or not the opposite party is going to be ok with the announcement.

I actually applaud Jeph for not making that her main characteristic and instead focusing on the humor that comes from the characters themselves.
